A client that supplies a variety of products to retailers throughout the United States, the United Kingdom and elsewhere, has asked ELG to help it develop and maintain an ethical sourcing program to assure that its products are being made in a socially and environmentally responsible way in production facilities around the world.

ELG consultants have created a supplier compliance policy, developed guidelines for implementing the policy, and built a variety of tools to see to it that the client’s ethical sourcing expectations – and those of its customers – are being met.

The client has begun implementing its program by rolling out it policy throughout its supply chain and by having meetings with its suppliers to define and explain its expectations. This is an ongoing process, and ELG is working closely with the client to address issues as they arise and to develop a program that focuses on continuous improvement – both within the client’s operations and at the supplier level.
